She was predeceased by: her father Joey Dunton; and her sister Beth Gurganious Weaver. She is survived by: her mother Sheila C. Gurganious; her children, Erica Nicole Williams (John) of Goldsboro and Kyle Merritt; her grandchildren, Jaiden Strickland and Tyler Williams; her brothers, Laban Dunton and Daniel Gurganious (Kristina); her niece Kaitlynn Gurganious; and her grandchildren, Bella, Harlow, Otis and Damon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in Dawn's memory to the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, 20 Duke Medicine Circle, Durham, NC 27710.
