With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gene Smith (Goldsboro, North Carolina), born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, who passed away on September 16, 2019 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Pierson Holmes and Maggie Jelette Williams; her husband William "Bill" Nelson Smith; and her siblings, Lela Brown, Clara Williford, Alice Brown, Hazel Holt, David Holmes, Pierson Holmes and Lloyd Holmes.
She is survived by: her sons, Chris Smith (Jessie) of Grantham, Nelson Smith (Cindy) of Garner, Jeff Smith (Sherry) of Mt. Olive and Clay Smith (Terri) of Concord; her grandchildren, William, Elisa Torres, Jacob (Jamie), Sarah, Joshua (Julie), Jordan, Grace and Cooper; and her great grandchild Caleb.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to the Providence United Methodist Church Nursery. 202 Providence Church Rd., Goldsboro, NC 27530-8973.
