He was predeceased by: his parents, Haywood Sasser and Lelia Dail Sasser; and his sister Emma Lee Hassell. He is survived by: his wife Sara Gwaltney Sasser; his daughters, Lib Coombs and Diane Woodard (Ronnie); and his nieces, Nancy Keel (Ralph) and Fara Harris-Evans (Chris). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
