He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Floyd Sr. and Lissie Daughtry; his wife Christine Byrd of Goldsboro; his children, Jan, Don (Natalie Daughtry) and Marty Metzler of Goldsboro, NC; his daughter-in-law Joyce Daughtry of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Beth (Tom Guth), Bob Daughtry, Mark (Lauren Metzler), Sam (Martha Metzler), Alexander Daughtry, Heather (Troy Bogan) and Jake Perlmutter; and his son James Floyd "Jimmy" Daughtry, III. He was also cherished by 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
