He was predeceased by : his parents, J. Elmer Holland and Victoria Atkinson Holland. He is survived by : his wife Bobbie Kirby Holland; his sons, James "Jimmy" Holland, Jr. (Luanne) of Durham and Mark Holland (Penny) of Erwin; his grandchildren, Dillon Holland (Kimberly) and Rachel Sanders (Kyle); his sisters, Shirley Edwards (William) of Cary and Dorothy Watkins (Roger) of Kenly; his sister-in-law Jean Holland of Kenly; and his siblings, Ethel Daffin, Inez Young and Paul D. Holland.
