She was predeceased by: her brothers, Eddie Strickland and Ronnie Strickland. She is survived by: her husband Arthur Monroe Mitchell; her daughter LaNelle Epps (Jay) of Fort Worth, Texas; and her grandson Caleb Mitchell Epps.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
