He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Rachel Johnson; his mother Ida Johnson of Clinton; his daughters, Pamela Johnson of Goldsboro and Nicolle Robbins (Brandon) of Goldsboro; his brothers, Haywood Johnson (Roberta) of Fayetteville and James Johnson (Lillian) of Garland; his granddaughter Candice Johnson; his sister-in-law Kelly Johnson of Goldsboro; his father Joseph E. Johnson; and his brothers, Furman L. Johnson and Truman Johnson. He was also cherished by his nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
