He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Henderson Smith and Wilbur Franklin Smith. He is survived by: his wife Jessica Sillmann Smith; and his siblings, Leonard Smith of Charlotte, Brenda Jones (Ernest) of Pikeville and Eula Henry (Ed) of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
