He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Childers and Thelma Adams Childers; and his brother Phillip Childers. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ann Childers; his children, Amy Stepanek (Britan), Julie Pennington (Mickey) and Chris Childers (Heather); his grandchildren, Sarah, Katrina, Alex, Andrew, Alyssa, Austin, Julian, Bailey, Cameron and Kya; his uncle Calvin Childers (Faye); his sister-in-law Charlotte Childers; and his nephews, Neal Childers and John Childers.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials be given in his memory to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge McConnell-Raab Campus, 930A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
