He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Abel and Naomi Jackson Abel; and his brothers, Charley Abel and James Abel. He is survived by: his wife Ann Rowe Abel; his children, Roy Abel of Pittsboro, Anthony Abel (Vickie) of Powhatan, VA and Lorri A. Tibbetts (Pat) of San Antonio, TX; and his grandchildren, Tony Abel, Christine Abel and John Tibbetts. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
