She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Smith and Thelma "Monkey" Smith; her husband Robert Carson Barrow; and her siblings, William Smith and Ruby Pope.
She is survived by: her children, Neal Barrow (Felicia) of Raleigh and Teresa Hamm (Danny) of Snow Hill; her grandchildren, Rachel Barrow and Benjamin Barrow; her siblings, Bob Smith (Peggy), Bruce Smith (Rose) and Margie Ormond (A. C. She); and her siblings-in-law, Jeanette Smith, Margaret B. Sutton, Rosetta B. Smith, Ann B. Davis, Lou Ellen Barrow and Sam Perry. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
