She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Claude Pope and Nellie Hope Pope; her husband Laney Andrew Benson; and her son-in-law Henry McArthur. She is survived by: her children, Kim McArthur of Mount Olive, Laney Andrew Benson Jr. (Kim Benson) of Charlotte, Sharon Schofill (Larry Simmons) of Dudley and Cheryl Dodson of Reidsville. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
