He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Pate and Theo Cox Pate; and his siblings, Mike Pate, Ray Pate, Lee Pate, Lisa Pate Hill and Diane Pate Townsend.
He is survived by: his children, Brittany Hinson (Billy) of La Grange and Clay Sauls of Hugo; his granddaughters, Brooke, Carolina, Southie and Tera; his brother Roger Pate of Goldsboro; and his close friend Rebecca Frock.
