He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nick Davis and Judith Hall Temple. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Jones Davis; his children, Anna Tart (Jimmy), Claire Franklin (David) and Greg Davis (Nicole); his grandchildren, Parker Franklin, Carter Franklin, Frances Tart and Caroline Davis; and his cousin Pam Brunson (Ricky). He is also survived by five siblings.
He was an advocate for blood donation, having donated over eleven gallons of blood.
