He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Smith and Eula Parks Smith; his wife Hazel Joyce Worrell Smith; and his siblings, Sarah Elizabeth Smith Taylor, Genelle McCullen, Charlotte Johnson and Elwood Lee Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Darden (Al), Lisa Smith, Russell Keith Smith (Susan), Craig Smith (Doris) and Kelvin Smith (Tonya); and his sisters, Marjorie Rose Newsome (Linwood Earl) and Barbara Jean Grant. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one step-granddaughter; and two step-great-granddaughters.
