She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Anderson and Blanche Smith Anderson; her husband Archie Joe "John" Gurley, Jr.; and her siblings, James Vernon Anderson, Martin Anderson, Jesse Anderson and Bernice Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Evonne Milkovits (Johnny) of Goldsboro and A. Joe Gurley III (Dana) of Goldsboro; her granddaughters, Kelli Bell (John) and Kerri Jo Gurley; her great grandchild Averi Bell; her sisters, Frankie Collins and Edna King; and her uncle C. Ray Smith (Lucille).
