He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Peggy Crawford Smith and Shelton Eugene Smith Sr.; his wife Diane Horne Smith; his son Ryan Eugene Smith of Goldsboro; his stepsons, Troy Horne of Goldsboro and Randy Horne of Iowa; his siblings, Jon Smith of Massachusetts, Carolyn Smith Wegman of Goldsboro and Katherine Grant of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Owen Smith, Tressa Jeffreys, Tana King, Hanna Horne, Aaron Horne and Caleb Horne; and his great grandchild Raelynn King.
