He was predeceased by: his parent Walter Gray Compton, Sr.; his siblings, Claude B. Compton, Curtis Compton, Ralph Compton, Kenneth Compton and Violet Ruth Compton; and his sisters-in-law, Elsie Compton and Margie Compton.
He is survived by: his parent Mary B. Smith Compton; his spouse Ada Smith Compton; his children, Garry D. Compton of Ohio and Barbara Morgan of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Jason B. Compton, Lisa, Heather Reiss, Amy Hobbins, Jeffrey Moore, Aaron Morgan and Amber; his great grandchildren, Evan Reiss, Caden Reiss, Sydney Reiss, Braeden Reiss, Keaton Winkler, Rylan Hobbins, Beckham Moore, Landon Morgan, Lily Morgan, Drew Compton and Tyler Compton; and his sisters-in-law, Pauline Compton and Virginia Compton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in the form of donations to the Frank Smith Cemetery Fund c/o New Peoples Bank, 58 Commerce Drive, Honaker, VA 24260.
