He was predeceased by: his sister Margaret Garrett; his parents, Haskell Garrett and Mary Henderson Garrett; and his brother Johnny H. Garrett. He is survived by: his sisters, Shirley J. Hinnant of Goldsboro, NC, Janie M. McCleese of Irvington, NJ and Emma B. Hamilton of Goldsboro, NC; his nephew Terrill L. Atkinson; and also Webtown. He is also survived by several nieces, nephew.
