He was predeceased by: his sister Marie Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Jodie Blaine Ward Gooch (Mike) of Lynchburg, VA and Steven Fletcher Ward of Burlington; his sister Virginia Boggs Cook of Elon; his grandchildren, Joy Hamilton (Ben), Bethany Gooch, Andrew Gooch (Allie), Lydia Hotaling and Abbie Hotaling; his great grandchildren, Eli Hamilton, Emmi Gooch and Oakley Gooch; and his pet Tiger.
The family request that everyone attending the visitation and funeral service follow the governor's mandate for safety guidelines by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels of Alamance and the Alamance County Pet Adoption Center.
