It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Lou Currin Russell (Greensboro, North Carolina), who passed away on June 27, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her father Earnest Currin; her husband James Carnell Russell, Sr.; and her siblings, Wilma Moore, Edwin, Frank, Roland, Earnest, Beverly and Irvin Currin.

She is survived by : her children, Beth Ballhaussen (Peter) of Swannanoa, James Carnell "Rusty" Russell, Jr. of Apex and Chris Russell (Kathy) of Greensboro; her sisters, Doris Hayes of Tarboro and Jane Jackson (Ray) of Mooresville; and her grandchildren, Eric Ballhaussen (Bria) of Boston, Sarah Brewer (Chandler) of Asheville and Adam Ballhaussen (Sara) of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lawndale Baptist Church, 3505 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, NC, 27408 and/or Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC, 27262.
