She was predeceased by: her parents, Lalah Trent and Clarence Elder Pierce Sr.; her former husband Joe L. Maddox; her brothers, Clarence E. Pierce, Jr. of Greensboro, NC and Samuel M Pierce of Selbyville, DE.; and her husband Kenneth D. Sell.
She is survived by: her children, Virginia Gwyn "Gin" Williams (Ted) of Trinity, NC, David P. Maddox (Corinne) of Greensboro, NC and Amy Lancaster (Jeff) of Missouri City, TX; and her grandsons, Benjamin Williams (Sarah) of Archdale, NC and Christopher Williams (Kierston) of Jamestown, NC. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, 5 step –grandchildren, and 5 step-great grandchildren.
