She was predeceased by: her husband Captain John Fairley Gordon; her parents, Edward Harper and Eunice Harper; her siblings, Edward Delane Harper, Jr. and Victoria Dixon; her nieces, Eleanor Harper, Detreona and Delicia Dixon; her nephew David Hendrix; and her great-nieces, Morgan, Noelle and Sydney Dixon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Bigelow and Joan Gordon; her grandchildren, Caroline and John Bigelow; and her sisters, Linda Harper, Eunice "Tancy" Day, Brenda "Susie" English, Alesa "Gail" Larson (Chico) and Pamela Hendrix (Greg). She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She served on the Board of Directors for the Piedmont Triad Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
