He is survived by: his children, Felita Salinas, Gabriela Medel Salinas (Juan Carlos Medel), Stephanie Nicholson (Sterling), Jose Candelario Salinas Jr. and Nicole Goolsby; his grandchildren, Roman, Rosalin Medel, Gavin Slomka, Zavier Goolsby and Lily Kay Nicholson; his siblings, Sandra Quiñones (Miguel), Samuel Salinas (Armandina) and Sylvia "Nelly" Salinas; his niece Nilda Lara (Angel); his great-niece Nelly; and his former spouses, Karen Salinas, Maria and Carmen Ceferino. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
