With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marcus Edwin Strowd of Greensboro, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 12, 2025 at the age of 54. He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Fearrington Strowd; his grandparents, Margaret Taylor Fearrington, Edwin Mebane Fearrington, Charles Kennon Strowd Sr. and Clementine Raiford Strowd; and his brother Jason Keith Maynor.
He is survived by: his son Landon Taylor Strowd; his father Charles Kennon Strowd Jr.; his brother Charles Kennon Strowd III; his aunt Margaret Fearrington Smith; and his nephews, Charles Kennon Strowd IV, Jaxon Gregory White and James Grayson White.
A funeral service was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church (2791 Jones Ferry Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312). A reception was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fellowship Hall (5140 Dunstan Rd, Greensboro, NC 27405). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church (2791 Jones Ferry Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312).
As an alternative to flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America and the animal shelters and services of Guilford, Chatham, and Orange Counties, reflecting his commitment to advancing treatments and a cure for Lupus and enhancing local animal care and adoption services.
