With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marjorie Lois Bass Goforth (Greensboro, North Carolina), born in Newton Grove, North Carolina, who passed away on May 11, 2023 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Walton Bass and Mary Emma Honeycutt Bass; her husband David L. Goforth, Sr.; her son David L. Goforth, Jr.; and her siblings, Maxton Honeycutt Bass, Walton Xyvon Bass, Ursula Bass Baggett and Dezree Miller Bass.

She is survived by: her sister Mary John Bass Turner; and her daughter Mary-Ellen Goforth. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
