With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roy Mangum Phipps Jr. (Greensboro, North Carolina), who passed away on May 23, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Mangum Phipps and Eugenia Hardy Phipps of Rocky Mount; and his brother Eugene Hardy Phipps (Gene) of Charlotte. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Hooker Phipps (Betty K.); his daughters, Carolyn Phipps Meade (Chris) and Eugenia Phipps (Geni); and his grandchildren, Jackson Maguire Meade, Cavan Mangum Meade and Grace Ann Cowles.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (617 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401).
