She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Clarence Trull and Thelma Greene Trull; her husband Rev. John Bennett Smith; her son Jonathan; her grandchildren, Amanda Smith Wilson and Curtis Haynes, Jr.; and her siblings, Charles, Clarence, Jr., Muriel, Janet, Nancy and Freida.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Bennett Smith, Sr. of Chester, Sharon of Greenville, NC, Sandra Haynes (Curtis) of Greenville, NC and Sonya Thomas (R. Steven) of Bentonville, AR; her grandchildren, Gary Bennett, Keely, Leslee, John, Jacob, Lacy, Leeza, Logan, Luke, Layton, Lantsen and Lyric; her great grandchildren, Ivan, Annessa, Alex, Andrew, Lucas, Riley, Michael and Melinda; and her brother Benjamin Trull of Canton, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
