He is survived by: his wife Velma Nelson of Carboro, NC; his siblings, Zollie Nelson of Halifax, NC, Calvin Nelson of Halifax, NC, Glenn Nelson (Jennifer) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Markie Nelson of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Barbara Fleming (Sherman) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Shirley Nelson of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his godson Jaquan Nelson of Portsmouth, VA; his close friend Sandra Johnson; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Nelson of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Martha Savage (Lee) of Pittsboro, NC. He is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
