She was predeceased by: her spouse Bobby Eugene Thompson. She is survived by: her siblings, Nancy Carter Smith and Franklin Carter, Jr. (Peggy); and her children, Ricky, Debbie, Beverly and Sharon. She is also survived by parents (Franklin Marian and Mary Jackson Carter), sister (Uldine Carter Cox), husband (Bobby Eugene Thompson), grand-daughter (Kristy Gregory) and daughter-in-law.
