It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jannie Thomas (Hampstead, North Carolina), born in Buckingham, Virginia, who passed away on March 13, 2018, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse George W. Thomas, Sr; her children, Barbara Ann Samuels and George Thomas, Jr.; and her sisters, Annie Green and Bernice Davis.
She is survived by: her parents, Mary Hughes Davis and John Davis; her children, Clara Hollis, Robert Thomas (Gloria), Sandra Haile and Patricia Thomas; her grandchildren, Charles Thomas, Danielle Jackson, Michelle Samuels, George Samuels, Jr., Samantha Hollis, Nikiah Dawson and Sherri Costango; and her daughters, Joyce Powell, Blondeborah Winn, Anne Kennard and Virginia Perkins. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
