He is survived by: his children, Robert Daniel, John Stewart and Mary Tilson; and his grandchildren, Jack Bowen, Lauren Bowen, Cole Bowen, Duncan Bowen, Quinn Bowen and Mary Bowen.
In lieu of gifts and flowers, the family is asking that donations be given to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Wilmington, who insured his quality of life until the very end.
