He was predeceased by: his parents, Beulah May Whitten and Lindsey Noel Whitten, Sr.; and his siblings, Linda Whitten, Lindsey Noel Whitten, Jr., Cecil Whitten, Marvin Whitten and Sam Whitten.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa "Missy" Moore (Darrell) and Laura Beth Whitten of Hampstead, NC; his grandchildren, Marshal (Lyna), Ted, Drake, Grey and Elly; his siblings, Verna Phillips, Mary Kane, Irene Wood, Johny Frank Whitten and Mike Whitten; and his close friends, Barbera and Ken Mims His. He is also survived by 70 nieces/nephews.
