She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward C. Melton and Virginia B. Melton. She is survived by: her children, Sharon A. Smith of Havelock, Edward C. "Huck" Smith (Renee) of Wilmington and Steven W. Smith of Havelock; her brother James T. Melton of Corpus Christi, TX; and her grandchildren, Mark T. Melton, Megan R. Eldred, Aaron D. Armstrong, Deven D. Smith and Hope N. Smith. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
