He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty; his sons, Elwood Louis Salter Jr. and Paul Ruffin Salter; his brother Osmond; his daughters-in-law, Anita and Amy Salter; and his grandchildren, Justin Elwood Salter, Jenna Salter King, Kathryn "Katie" Delaney Salter and Natalie Salter Kollar.
