It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George W. Griffin (Havelock, North Carolina), who passed away on May 21, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Griffin of Washington and Dora Mae Moye; his grandfather Pop; his children, Georgia Griffin Lucas of Havelock, Lovey Deane "Deanie" Cocran (Tim) of Camden, NC and George William "Billy" Griffin, Jr. of Havelock; his grandchildren, Meghan Ashleigh Lucas, Cody Austin Lucas, Sharon Ashley Griffin of Morehead City, Virginia Elizabeth of Vanceboro and Lauren Cocran of Elizabeth City; his great grandchildren, Jewel E. Cocran, Caroline E. Cocran and Noah E. Lucas; and his wife Jewell Mae Braxton Griffin. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will have a Celebration of Bill's Life at a later date once the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
