He was predeceased by: his parents, Erich Burkamp and Nancy Burkamp; and his brothers, Erich F. Burkamp and Walter Burkamp. He is survived by: his children, Kerry A. Robeson (Patrick), David A. Burkamp (Stephanie) and Ashley M. Burkamp; his sisters, Winifred Perry, Lavina Hartman, Elsie Schwerin and Tina Farrow; and his grandchildren, Samantha, Kaelynn, Hunter, Lucy, Stella, Caroline and Fallon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation.
