He was predeceased by: his children, Joyce Marie Culpepper, Donnie Ray Culpepper and Brian Culpepper; his stepdaughter Jeanie "Susie" Swain; his former wife Gloria Lewis Culpepper; and his siblings, Marie Winberry, Norman Culpepper and Tommy Culpepper.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta E. Culpepper; his stepson Tommy "Buddy" Haynes (Patty) of Mill Creek; and his stepgrandchildren, Lori Ford of Morehead City, Jill Swain of New Jersey and Doug Ford of Mill Creek.
