It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Madeline Whitmore Garner (Haw River, North Carolina), who passed away on November 19, 2019, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Jahu Whitmore and Pearl Thaxton Whitmore; her siblings, James William Whitmore, Cleophas Whitmore, Ralph Packingham, Ronald Whitmore, Donald Whitmore, Dorothy Enoch, Reba Bradsher and Christine Packingham; and her grandchild Courtney Summers.

She is survived by : her sons, Edward Degraffenried Jr. (Sandra), Maurice Degraffenried, Gregory Degraffenried and Phillip Degraffenried; her stepsons, Bernard Garner and James Garner (Sapphire); and her sister-in-law Iona Whitmore. She is also survived by two grandchildren, four step grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
