It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Stephen Thurston (Hayesville, North Carolina), born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who passed away on December 4, 2019, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Forrest Roberts and Guy Frederick Morgenstern. He is survived by: his wife Cecile Jehle Thurston; his daughter Heather Thurston Miller; and his siblings, Robert Thurston and Barbara Martensen of Phoenix, Arizona.. He is also survived by several stepchildren and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shooting Creek Volunteer Fire Department, 18 Eagle Fork Rd., Hayesville, NC 28904.
