James Russell Saltz Sr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Russell Saltz Sr. of Hayesville, North Carolina, who passed away on April 2, 2021 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Russell Saltz Sr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Anne "Scottie" Rogers Saltz; his daughter Terri Saltz; his parents, Plato E. Saltz and Willa Mae "Bill" Mease Saltz; and his siblings, Henrietta Anderson, Mary Zell Manro and Randall Lee Saltz.

He is survived by: his children, Melissa Saltz Cheek of Hayesville, Cindi Saltz Simmons (Si) of Webster, Amy Saltz Brodhage (Mark) of Arab, Alabama and James Russell "Jim" Saltz, Jr. of Hayesville; his grandchildren, Jordan Leigh Cheek, Sandy, Thomas Lee Cheek II (Heather), Jackson Brett Simmons (Nicole) and Craig Forest Brodhage (Elizabeth Anne Brodhage); and his great grandchildren, Thomas Lee Cheek III, Taylor James Cheek and Hailee Marie Cheek. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family requests, for the safety of the community that was so special to Coach Saltz, that those who attend wear a mask.
