He is survived by: his wife Joann Ledford Bristol; his daughter Debra Bristol Puckett (Robert) of Hayesville; his granddaughter Julie Woody Joyce Overlin (Stacey); and his great grandchildren, Abby of Hayesville and Marlo Joyce of Hayesville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Richard Evans Bristol to the Hayesville Baptist-Presbyterian Cemetery at United Community Bank.
