She was predeceased by: her parents, Verle Balsley and Constance Morse Balsley. She is survived by: her husband Lloyd Schechinger; her children, Brian Schechinger of Hayesville, Andrea Polanco (Pete) of Naples, Kimberly Schechinger of Gainesville and Sarah Chronister (Ryan) of Fort Myers, Florida; her siblings, Connie Williams (Les) of Colorado, Lu Pronovost of Colorado and Duane Balsley of California; and her grandchildren, Peter, Madyson Polanco, Lucas Baker, Makenzie Claiborne, Cody and Emmalee Chronister.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Valerie Schechinger to the All Saints Lutheran Church, 83 Earl Shelton Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
