He was predeceased by: his parent William Edward; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Blackwell and Dick Lindsey. He is survived by: his parent Ada June Snyder Slear; his wife Billie Sue Slear (Leatherwood); his son Andrew William Slear (Wendy); his grandchildren, Ethan Jacob Slear, Travis Edward Slear and Kathryn Elizabeth Slear; his brother Jack Wesley Slear; and his siblings-in-law, John H. Leatherwood Jr. (Bunny) of Hendersonville, NC and Patricia Lindsey of Zirconia, NC. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
