It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lura Jayne Parker of Hertford, North Carolina, who passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl Austin and Maude Griffin Austin. She is survived by : her siblings, Carroll Austin, Woodrow Austin, Jack Austin, Harold Austin, Clyde Austin, Sybil Austin Cathey, Martha Austin Collins, Fontanelle Austin Burdette, Dorothy Austin and Maude Austin Gerwig; her spouse J. W. Parker, Jr.; her daughter Karla Parker Gentry (Steve Gentry); her grandchildren, Wendy Gentry Manos (Clay Manos) and J. J. Gentry (Holly Moore Gentry); her great grandchildren, Hannah Manos Nash (Adam Nash), Jayson Wood, Gracie Manos, Caleb Manos and Parker Gentry; her great great grandchild Ethan Nash; and her niece Carol Gerwig.
