He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Leroy Killian and Bonnie Mae Hefner Killian; his wife Margaret Jan Schermerhorn Killian; his brothers, David Ray Killian and Robert Preston Killian; his son-in-law Philip Collins; and his brother-in-law Eugene Gregory.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diane K. Wesson (Gene) of Claremont and Donna K. Collins of Hickory; his siblings, James Killian (Phyllis) of Bethlehem and Mary K. Gregory of Hickory; his grandchildren, Cody Wesson (Brittany) of Conover and Natalie Collins of Hickory; his uncle Leonard Hefner of Hickory; and his sister-in-law Connie Killian of Florida. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Donations in John's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
