He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Edward Martin and Clara Adel Mason Martin; and his siblings, Betty Miller, Shirley Chrisman, Mildred Hoke and Gene Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Shook Martin; his children, Tim Martin and Andrea Trent (Eddie); his grandchildren, Kara Miller, Laura Trent and Cory Trent; his great grandchild Wyatt Miller; and his siblings, Max Martin, Butch Martin (Brenda) and Linda Bramlett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church (LCMS) 2304 Springs Road NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
