He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Buff and Maudie Talent Buff; the mother of his children Beddie Buff; and his brothers, Willard Buff, Leonard Buff, Devoid "Dee" Buff, Odell Buff and Ual Buff.

He is survived by: his children, Greer Buff, Ernest Buff, Carroll Buff (Denise) and Brenda Nations Wells; and his sister Irneta Powell. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Conover Nursing & Rehab in Buford's name.
