He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Evan Kanupp and Ida Gilbert Kanupp; and his brother Jerry Kanupp. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Hafer Kanupp; his children, Deborah Kanupp Pruitt (Alan) of Hickory, Krystal Kanupp Sharpe (Billy) of Catawba, Jeffrey Kanupp (Sharon) of Hickory and Johnny Kanupp (Lynn) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Emily Rector (Alex) of Charlotte, Heather Kanupp (Tommy Brooks) of Hickory, Sonni Sharpe of Catawba, Tonya Krizer of Claremont, Cortney Kanupp of Hickory, Charlie Sharpe of Catawba and Evan Kanupp of Hickory; his great grandchildren, Sophia Sharpe, Jack Rector and Hayes Rector; and his sisters, Martha Spencer (Dale), Becky Sigmon and Donna Specht (Joel).
