It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Franklin Barkley of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on November 11, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Franklin Barkley and Edna Cline Barkley; and his stepparents, Ray Austin and Ruth Barkley. He is survived by: his son Michael "Mike" Barkley of Irmo, SC; his grandson Chris Barkley of Irmo, SC; his close friend Bessie Kanipe of Newton; and his stepsisters, Judy Barkley of Hickory and Pat Barkley Allen (Ronny) of Shelby, Numerous. He is also survived by Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
